I'm Marsella Duarte Serna
My name is Marsella Duarte Serna, and I am proud to be a Democratic candidate for State Representative in House District 16, the vibrant heart of Albuquerque’s westside.
A multigenerational New Mexican, I’ve lived in this district my entire life, alongside my mother and two sisters. I’m a proud product of Albuquerque Public Schools—having attended and later taught kindergarten at Susie Rayos Marmon Elementary School- and my roots here guide everything I do.
I was honored to be briefly appointed to serve in 2022 and am looking forward to the opportunity to represent the families, educators, and small business owners who make our community strong. My priorities are public safety, education, infrastructure, and economic development. I’m committed to responsible governance, smart growth, and creating real opportunities so our children, neighbors, and local businesses can thrive—today and for generations to come.
